In the heart of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains, there is an idea that started as a college research paper and turned deadly. Money, power, lust, and envy encircle all those who are drawn into its seductive temptation. A young college student, Calo Hanna, will lose his moral thinking of right from wrong as he sees what he does as more of a game than real life, but when things turn deadly and his friends are placed in harm’s way, he must struggle to regain his mortality and put his trust in his religion when all else is lost.

"I, John Calovacanti Hanna, do so eagerly, upon my own wishes and desires, come here tonight so that I may step into the light to see all things from which I was blind before; to grow as an individual and as a unified body of the Circulary. I pledge my loyalty to all that is sacred here tonight. I swear on my soul to keep all that is said, revealed, and in action, in everlasting secrecy even to my lower Circulary brothers and sisters. If I should ever break my vow of silence to anyone who is not worthy, who is anyone that is not a brother or sister of the Circulary, that I will cut my throat from ear to ear. I will have my tongue cut out with the dullest blade and my lifeless body will be hung over the ocean to be eaten by the flocks who cruise the seas. I am, and always shall be, a loyal brother of the Circulary and never betray those who are with me, for the penalty of betrayal is most certainly death."
